Experience the Flavors of Detroit’s First Taco Truck

In 1996, Pablo Lopez opened Los Unicos, the first taco truck in Southwest Detroit.

Truly one-of-a-kind as the only taco truck at time time, Pablo opened the door for others to follow his path. He ran his community staple truck up until 2012, needing to invest his time into his young children despite record-breaking lines every weekend— with his well-deserved success and a growing family, he could not keep up with the demand.

Pablo‘s oldest son Osvaldo always dreamed of reopening his father’s passion. In 2017, with both men continuing to work full-time jobs in construction, he joined his father to open Pablo’s Tacos. Managed by Pablo and his wife Zeinada, every bite incorporates generations of hometown flavors- particularly their authentic homemade salsas. Truly family operated, their sons, Osvaldo and Maurisio, run two of the trucks, and daughter-in-law Sonia coordinates logistics and events.

Now, Pablos Tacos boasts three trucks that bring the party all over Metro Detroit and surrounding areas.

You can regularly find our flames at DCFC games at the Hamtramck Keyworth Stadium, and we offer catering at private events such as weddings, graduation parties, and birthday parties.

We are grateful to Detroit for nearly 30 years of supporting Pablo’s infamous tacos- and we look forward to seeing and serving you!
